Rotel or NAD?

I am not comparing too much, as it is hard for me to explain...I used to have my NAD amp (model# C355BEE) which was connected to my lovely CD player NAD C515BEE. It sounded great, warm room filling sweet sound. However, I thought to try a pair of Rotel gears; more specefically Rotel's newer invention their 1500 series. So, I did and got a pre amp (RC-1550) and power amp (RB-1562). Price difference of this Rotel pair over my earlier NAD integrated is a solid 750 Canadian dollar! I expected far better sound than my NAD. But, I am disappointed. It might be because of my apeaker. Who knows? Or it might be giving me too bright sound than I like. In general Rotel is bright sounding and straight wheras Nad is a little bit laid back. But, that is probably my preference. The picture shows my NAD integrated on the top shelf, and the picture below ahos my Rotel pre (at the top shelf) and power (at the middle shelf).

Next step: I am going to return these Rotels next week and bring back my NAD and then I will utilize the price difference to upgare my speakers!
